The Metro Decatur Black Chamber of Commerce hosted an MLK day event to meet and greet black candidates at the Lucy Loft, 1165 N. University Ave in Decatur.
Tony Wilkins hosted and introduced candidates. The candidates present (pictured above left-to-right) were Karl Coleman for Decatur City Council, Gina Taylor for Maroa-Forsyth School Board, Shelith Hansbro for Decatur Park Commissioner, Datrice Weathers for Decatur School Board, Dennis Cooper for Decatur City Council, and Jacob Jenkins for Decatur School Board. Also pictured is Michael Jouanneau, photographer for the Macon County Democrats.
I briefly interviewed all six candidates and recorded video of them talking to the group. The following have been covered so far:
