Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and County Board Chairman Kevin Greenfield organized a meeting in September 2019 to discuss Cannabis with mayors across the county and intentionally avoided being subject to the open meetings act:
"So as to not violate the Open Meetings Act, please feel free to bring only one additional elected official, and if applicable, your city administrator."
This letter was obtained through a FOIA request to Kim Althoff, after reading about this from Decatur Public Library Watchdogs.
I have not reached out to anyone for comment. Lisa Gregory, current City Councilor and candidate for 2023 City Council, helped with organizing the meeting by compiling a list of county offices & Mayors, which can be seen in the FOIA request.
